Your child will sit their formal assessments in their EBACC subjects Week Commencing 20th May 2024. Students will be assessed in English, Maths, Science, History, Geography and Spanish.  We have selected these subjects for the assessments to ensure that whilst students are provided with an opportunity to experience formal conditions, we are not overwhelming them with their revision.  These assessments are designed to test students’ knowledge and understanding of what has been taught within the classroom. The assessments will provide your child and their teacher with an understanding of their current progress, their ‘Glow’ areas (areas of strength) and their ‘Glow’ areas (areas of further development).

In order to support your child with preparing for their assessments and in addition to in classroom-based revision lessons, curriculum leaders have provided the following guidance below:

Your child has access to revision materials which have been posted on our school website. These resources can be accessed following the link here. The revision materials are labelled with your child’s year group in a booklet format with all subjects collated together.  Class teachers will be supporting learners with how best to revise in their subject area and there will also be dedicated time during Culture Slots to share effective revision strategies. We will also be providing ‘Walking Talking Mock’ lessons where class teachers will be explaining the format of the assessment and how to approach each question.
