Pastoral Care

Lessons are purposeful and students enjoy positive relationships with their subject teachers and the Sixth Form Team. Although our Sixth Formers demonstrate increasing maturity and independence in their studies, we continue to provide the strong pastoral care that, we believe, underpins their success.

All students are fully supported throughout their time at Waseley Sixth by a wide ranging specialist Sixth Form Team including:

  • Head of Sixth Form
  • Sixth Form Achievement Leader providing student services including mentoring, careers education, information, advice and guidance to sixth formers
  • Sixth form designated safeguarding lead
  • Dedicated Sixth Form first aider and welfare assistant
  • Specialist Sixth Form tutors

Students meet daily with their personal tutor and subject teachers keep all tutors up to date with concerns or praise. We believe that each individual is equally important; we are committed to offering quality opportunities to all, enabling every individual to flourish during their time with us. This includes a comprehensive programme of support for entry to university, apprenticeship, or employment through regular academic mentoring that focusses on achieving personal best.
